Diethyl (4-cyanophenyl)methylphosphonate is a synthetic chemical used in the production of polymers. It is a highly reactive compound that reacts with proteins and other molecules to form supramolecular complexes, which are assemblies of more than one molecule. Diethyl (4-cyanophenyl)methylphosphonate has been shown to bind to protein targets such as plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1, aminopeptidase M, and angiotensin II receptor type 1. This chemical can also be used to study the human genome because it interacts with DNA and RNA. Diethyl (4-cyanophenyl)methylphosphonate is also useful in the detection of vinylene and its decomposition products, including dimethylamine and alkene. The luminescent properties of this chemical make it an excellent candidate for optical applications such as bioimaging or biosensing.
