Description:

Sodium 2-hydroxypropane-1-sulfonate is a surfactant that is used in the production of polymers. It can be used as a hydroxyethyl monomer and an oxidant, or as an initiator for polymerization reactions. This compound can also be used as an abrasive and to produce yields of propanesulfonic acid. Sodium 2-hydroxypropane-1-sulfonate has shown to yield piperazine from 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol and zwitterion from ethanesulfonic acid.
