Description:

5,7-Dihydroxy-3,4',8-trimethoxyflavone is a natural product that has been isolated from the plant Calceolaria. It is a yellowish solid with a melting point of 130-132 °C. 5,7-Dihydroxy-3,4',8-trimethoxyflavone has shown to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to DNA and RNA. It was most effective against erythromycin resistant bacteria when tested in vitro. This compound also suppresses the growth of certain fungi.
