Description:

1-Docosene is an antimicrobial agent that has been shown to have a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. 1-Docosene inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA by inhibiting the polymerase chain reaction. It has also been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandins (PGs) in animals. 1-Docosene is used as a control agent for studies on the toxicity of other pharmaceutical preparations. This compound is found in plants such as Ganoderma lucidum with a hydroxyl group at position 1, two nitrogen atoms, and one hydrogenated carbon atom. The toxicity of this compound has been studied extensively in rats and mice, but it does not cause any noticeable side effects in humans.
