Diphenyldichlorogermane (DPDG) is a reactive molecule that can undergo a number of different reactions, including electronic interaction with other molecules, UV absorption, and hydrogen chloride. DPDG also has the ability to react with chlorine atoms in the presence of mercury chloride or mercuric chloride to form chlorides. It is also possible for DPDG to react with phenyl groups and give off light emission. DPDG's average particle diameter is about 1.2 nm.
