2-Undecanol is a substituted fatty alcohol that belongs to the group of long chain carboxylic acids. It is a model protein and reacts with primary cells. 2-Undecanol has been shown to inhibit the growth of p. aeruginosa, which is an opportunistic pathogen in infections in cystic fibrosis patients. 2-Undecanol has also been demonstrated as an inhibitor of bacterial strains such as E. coli and S. aureus and has shown anti-inflammatory properties in vitro by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.br>br>
2-Undecanol can be synthesized from methyl ketones, fatty acid, and subtilis using analytical methods such as gas chromatography or liquid chromatography.br>br>
2 Undecanol contains an enantiomer that does not react with primary cells, making it a useful tool for studying these cells without interference from the molecule's other stereoisomers.br>br>
