Description

Acid Violet 49 is a violet dye that is used in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity and can inhibit the growth of bacteria. Acid Violet 49 has also been shown to adsorb onto activated sludge and to be stable in the presence of sodium salts, which are commonly found in wastewater treatment plants. Acid Violet 49 may also have long-term toxicity effects, as well as carcinogenic potential. This compound is toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause reproductive problems when ingested by mammals and birds.
