This chemical also facilitates the enzyme activities of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). The amide bond that connects the monomer units together can be easily cleaved by enzymes, making it easier for blood cells to break down the polyamide polymer into smaller compounds.
