Product Information
2-Methoxyisophthalic acid is a chemical compound that has luminescent properties. It is the hydrochloride salt of 2-methoxyisophthalic acid. This substance is used in pharmaceutical formulations and as a precursor for the synthesis of other chemicals, such as metal complexes, aromatic hydrocarbons, and drugs. 2-Methoxyisophthalic acid can also be used for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. It does so by inhibiting dopamine transport into neurons and modulating glutamate release from nerve terminals. The presence of both an aromatic ring and a methoxy group gives it an antireflection property that would make it suitable for use in coating optical devices to reduce glare or reflection.
