Description:COMPOUND 19 is a selective, active analogue of the antimicrobial agent moxifloxacin. COMPOUND 19 has been shown to have inhibitory effects on cancer cells such as MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231, which are associated with breast cancer. In addition, COMPOUND 19 has been shown to be an α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist that can induce apoptosis in these cells. It also inhibits the adenosine A3 receptor and mitochondrial membrane potential, which are both important in tumorigenesis. This compound is also effective against infectious diseases such as influenza and HIV. COMPOUND 19 may also be used to treat other types of cancers, including colon cancer and prostate cancer.
