Product Information
Mucicarmine is a dye that is used for histological staining of tissue. It has been shown to be effective in the diagnosis of bladder, skin cancer, and bowel disease. Mucicarmine binds to the cell membrane or cytoskeleton and stains the cells red. This dye also stains squamous carcinoma and urothelial carcinomas on tissue sections. Mucicarmine can be used to diagnose inflammatory bowel disease and lacrimal gland lesions by using a particle technique in clinical pathology. It has been shown to be useful in diagnosing abdominal surgery specimens.
