4-Amino-2,8-dimethylquinoline is a positional isomer of piperidine. It has been shown to have mechanisms for reactions involving fluorine, chlorine and aromatic compounds. These reactions are typically nucleophilic additions with heteroaromatic substrates. 4-Amino-2,8-dimethylquinoline can be synthesized from the reaction of 2,4,6-trichloropyridine with ammonia and formaldehyde.
