Product Information
4-Amino-3-nitrobenzaldehyde (4ANB) is a fluorescent probe that is used to detect amines. It has been shown to be thermodynamically stable and can be used as a fluorophore in the presence of hydroxyl groups. 4ANB fluoresces with a bathochromic shift when protonated and can be used as a hypsochromic probe for cellulose acetate. The fluorescence properties of 4ANB are dependent on the chemical environment, which can be modified by adding functional groups such as formyl or fluorophore groups.
