Licoricone is a curcuma aromatica extract that has been shown to have cell-lytic effects. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat inflammatory skin diseases, such as acne vulgaris. Licoricone is not active against infectious diseases. The activity index of licoricone is 0.3%. This means that it takes 30 grams of licoricone for every 1 liter of water to create a 10% solution of licoricone. Licoricone has been shown to have an antimicrobial effect when combined with human serum, but the clinical significance of this effect is unknown.
