Boc-D-Thr(Bzl)-OH is a peptide that is used as an activator or inhibitor of ion channels. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of L-type voltage dependent calcium channels and N-type voltage dependent sodium channels, as well as potassium channels. This peptide binds to the receptor site on the channel and blocks ion transport through the channel. Boc-D-Thr(Bzl)-OH can also be used to study protein interactions with receptors and ligands, as well as pharmacology.
