Product Information
3'-O-Methylbatatasin III is a flavonoid compound found in the bulbocodioides family of plants. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex, and other organisms. 3'-O-Methylbatatasin III inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA by binding to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA. This inhibition prevents protein production, which leads to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. The compounds in this plant have also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
