Mulberrofuran Q (MRQ) is a modulating agent that has an inhibitory effect on neuronal cells. MRQ is derived from mulberrofuran and moracenin, which are flavans with a prenyl group. This compound also contains flavonoids and prenyl groups, which are chemical structures found in plants and fungi. MRQ has been evaluated for its ability to treat neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. These evaluations have shown that the compound inhibits the activity of the cannabinoid receptors and neocyclomorusin.
