Description:Potent inhibitor of the calcium-independent phospholipase A2 (GVIA iPLA2) with IC50 of 1 nM. GK 563 is 22000 times more active against GVIA iPLA2 than against the cytoplasmic phospholipase GVIA cPLA2. In β pancreatic cells from rat, GK 563 was shown to inhibit the β cell apoptosis when co-administered with pro-inflammatory cytokines.
