Description:GNF 6703 is a cationic surfactant with potent antimicrobial activity against Leishmania. It also has the ability to disrupt the lipid bilayer of cell membranes and inhibit protein synthesis in susceptible organisms. GNF 6703 is stable at high pH, making it an excellent choice for use in tropical environments where resistant microorganisms are present. The chemical structure of GNF 6703 consists of two nitrogen atoms coordinated by a dinucleotide phosphate, which stabilizes the amide group. This coordination complex is able to bind to ubiquitin-proteasome pathway proteins and disrupt protein synthesis in susceptible organisms.
