1H10 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes the protein gene product of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and HIV-2. It is used as a marker to study the progression of these diseases, and has been shown to induce neuronal death in mice infected with HIV. 1H10 also binds to an epitope on the beta-subunit of epidermal growth factor (EGF), inhibiting its biological activity in neuro2a cells. This antibody also inhibits angiogenesis in solid tumours and bowel disease, which are induced by occlusive factors such as fibrinogen.
