(2S)-N-[(2S,3R)-3-Hydroxy-4-[N-(2-methylpropyl)4-[(1E)-(hydroxyimino)methyl]benzenesulfonamido]-1-phenylbutan-2-yl]-3-methyl-2-{3-[( 2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)methyl]-2-oxoimidazolidin-1,1'-ylimidazolidin]-1,1'-ylimidazolidin}butanamide is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), which is involved in the regulation of intracellular levels of cyclic AMP. This compound has been shown to stimulate the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells.
