Scutebarbatine A is a diterpenoid alkaloid that has been shown to have potent anti-tumor activity in vivo. It inhibits the growth of BV2 microglial cells and degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. Scutebarbatine A can be used for the treatment of skin cancer, leukemia cells, and cancer. Scutebarbatine A is found in plants that are toxic to humans and animals. It can inhibit tumor growth by inducing cell apoptosis through the activation of caspase-3 and caspase-7. This compound also interacts with protein kinase C (PKC) to induce cell death.
