Product Information

Name:
Ducheside A
Synonyms:
  • DuchesideA
Description:

Ducheside A is an ellagitannin that is found in the bark of the duchesne tree. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties and may inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-6 in vivo. Ducheside A also has moisturizing effects, which may be due to its ability to increase skin hydration by increasing water retention and reducing transepidermal water loss. The antioxidant activity of Ducheside A can be measured by a number of assays, including the 2,2'-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline)-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical cation decolorization assay, ferric ion reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay, oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay, and Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) assay.
