Description:KN-92 is a potassium channel opener that has been shown to increase intracellular calcium levels in cardiac and neuronal cells. It also increases the energy metabolism of cardiac cells by increasing the mitochondrial membrane potential, leading to increased production of ATP. KN-92 has been shown to be effective in experimental models for structural heart disease. It also reduces the incidence of atrial arrhythmia and congestive heart failure in rats with experimentally induced myocardial infarction. KN-92 is not active against granule neurons.
