Description:Nami-A is an experimental drug that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against carcinoma cell lines and solid tumours. Nami-A is a small molecule that binds to integrin receptors on the surface of cells, inhibiting the production of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9). In vivo studies with Nami-A in mice showed that mitochondrial membrane potential was reduced and there was a decrease in redox potentials. The MMP-9 inhibition by Nami-A may be due to its ability to inhibit oxidative stress.
