Product Information
Jacobine is a n-oxide that has been shown to be effective in the preparation of liver cells. It has also been shown to have dose-dependent effects on rat liver microsomes, with sublethal doses causing cationic polymerization. Jacobine is not active against retrorsine, radiation, or hydrochloric acid. This compound is a precursor for the production of retrorsine and can be used as a solvent in preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The ester linkages are cleaved by hydrochloric acid to form retrorsine.
