Product Information
1,4-Dioxane is a reaction intermediate used in the synthesis of 2-(3-chloropropanamido)-N-cyclopropylbenzamide. This compound is a white solid that is soluble in water and organic solvents. It has been shown to be carcinogenic in rats, causing liver tumors at high doses. 1,4-Dioxane was also found to cause nephrotoxicity in mice. The mechanism for this toxicity is not known but may be due to its ability to react with proteins and form adducts with DNA.
