SB 332235 has been shown to inhibit neutrophil recruitment and reduce inflammation in animal models. SB 332235 is orally active and does not affect blood pressure or heart rate in animals. The drug also reduces levels of the inflammatory cytokine TNF-α and increases levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. SB 332235 has been used as a diagnostic agent for detection of autoimmune diseases, cancer, or inflammatory diseases. It has not yet been approved for clinical use in humans.
