3-Methyl-1-phenyl-5-(quinolin-8-ylsulfanyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde is an organic compound that contains a pyrazole ring with a formyl group. It is used in the synthesis of coumarin derivatives. 3MPQCA can be synthesized by reacting 2,3,4,5,6 tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene with 8-(quinolin-8-ylsulfanyl)quinoline and sodium hydroxide in ethanol. The reaction can be performed in one step or two steps depending on the desired yield.
