ASP 9521 is a potent, orally available inhibitor of the human androgen receptor. ASP 9521 is a non-steroidal, antiandrogen drug that binds to the androgen receptor with high affinity (Ki=5 nM) and selectivity. The compound has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. This agent has been shown to be well tolerated in animals at doses up to 200 mg/kg/day for 14 days, with no evidence of toxicity or adverse effects.
