Description:
This compound is a standard serotonin receptor 5-HT1A antagonist with IC50 = 8.8 nM. In rodents, WAY 100635 itself induced no overt behavioural changes. However, it blocked the 8-OH-DPAT-induced hypothermia and behavioural syndrome. Furthermore, the compound causes malformations of the central nervous system in ascidian embryos.
