Product Information
Name:AKB 48
Controlled Product
Brand:Biosynth
Description:AKB 48 is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been shown to bind to the CB1 receptor in mice. It has also been shown to have locomotor-stimulating effects, which are mediated by the activation of dopamine D2 receptors. AKB 48 is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and has been shown to inhibit CYP1A2, CYP2C19 and CYP3A4. This drug also interacts with many other drugs, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, antiepileptics, benzodiazepines and calcium channel blockers. In vitro studies have demonstrated that AKB 48 is metabolized by human liver microsomes as well as rat liver microsomes. The metabolism of this substance is dependent on the matrix effect and the analytical method used for detection. The acute toxicity of this drug has not yet been determined.
