Description:
Gallein is a new analytical method that utilizes Langmuir adsorption isotherm, color, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to determine the concentration of alizarin in human serum. Gallein has been shown to have linear calibration curves and can be used for the detection of alizarin concentrations ranging from 0.5-2.5 μM. The color changes from violet to orange as the concentration of alizarin increases. This technique has also been shown to be sensitive enough to detect radiation levels in human serum that are as low as 0.1 Gy.
