This coating provides protection for the magnetic particles during thermal expansion. Triethyl(methoxy)silane can also be used as a polymerization initiator and to form coatings on other materials, such as fabrics and metal surfaces. This chemical has hydroxyl groups that can act as antioxidants, preventing oxidation of other compounds by reacting with oxygen molecules.
