6-(4-Methylphenyl)pyridazin-3-ol (6MP) is a halogenated alkyl-type compound. It is an antacid that neutralizes stomach acid and provides relief from the symptoms of indigestion, such as heartburn, pain, nausea and vomiting. 6MP has been used for the treatment of peptic ulcers, hyperacidity and other conditions characterized by excess gastric acid production. The remedy is taken orally or as a suppository. It can be used in combination with other drugs to treat more severe cases of peptic ulcers.
