Chloromethylmethyldiethoxysilane is a reactive, primary alcohol that has cocatalytic properties. It is used as an organic solvent and proton source in the production of polymers. Chloromethylmethyldiethoxysilane is also used to produce amines by reacting with ammonia or amines. This molecule has spacing between its atoms, which influences its conformational properties.
