Description:

Dimethyl Phenylphosphonate (DMPP) is a molecule that can be used as a polymerization initiator. It is an aliphatic hydrocarbon with two hydroxyl groups and two methoxy groups. DMPP reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form the corresponding phosphite, which then reacts with a deuterium isotope to form the corresponding phosphate. The phosphate group is then able to react with an aromatic hydrocarbon or fatty acid, forming a phosphoramidate ester. This process can be used in coatings for metals and plastics and in the production of polymers. The reaction mechanism of DMPP has been studied using rat liver microsomes.
