Product Information
Pentamethylaniline belongs to a class of organic solvents and is used as a reaction medium for the polymerization of cationic monomers. It is also used as a reagent in clinical development, specifically for the synthesis of polyenes. Pentamethylaniline has been shown to have high melting point, which makes it useful in the production of gels. Pentamethylaniline has also been shown to be an effective solvent for copolymers and pyridine compounds. The copolymers are typically composed of pentamethylaniline and acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, or vinyl acetate. These copolymers can be crosslinked with dicumyl peroxide or benzoyl peroxide to produce polyene resins with varying properties. Pentamethylaniline is also used as a precursor in the synthesis of benzyl group-containing compounds, such as phenylethyl alcohol and benzyl chloride
