Product Information
- Itaconic acid di(2-ethylhexyl)ester
- Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) 2-Methylidenebutanedioate
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) itaconate is a crosslinked polymer that can be used as an initiator. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) itaconate reacts with hydrogen atoms to form polysulfides, which are the structural units of the polymer. The average molecular weight of bis(2-ethylhexyl) itaconate is about 2000 daltons. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) itaconate is soluble in solvents that include chloroform and ether, but not in water or benzene. It has a photosensitive wavelength of about 400 nm and an initiation temperature of about -20°C.
