Description:
1-(Thiophen-2-yl)ethan-1-ol is an enantiopure reactant that can be used to synthesize lipase substrates. The immobilized substrate is a polyvinyl polymer that has been functionalized with a primary alcohol and thiol groups. 1-(Thiophen-2-yl)ethan-1-ol is used in the synthesis of lipase substrates that are used to study the biotransformations of secondary alcohols. X-ray structures have been obtained for this compound, which contains a chiral center.
