- Benzene, 1-Ethenyl-4-Iodo-
4-Iodostyrene is a functional group that is used in organic synthesis. It has been shown to react with acrylonitrile to form a crosslink. The reaction product has a good fluorescence and the kinetic constants have been determined. 4-Iodostyrene can also be converted into an oxime derivative, which has chiral properties and can be used in the manufacture of styrenes with constant molecular weights. 4-Iodostyrene reacts with chloride to form copolymers with divinylbenzene, halides, and other copolymerizable compounds.
