Description:

5,5-Bis(hydroxymethyl)-2-phenyl-1,3-dioxane is a model system for studying the reaction of the hydroxyl group with fluorine. The reaction is very efficient due to the presence of a reactive fluorine atom. The products are biodegradable and water soluble, which makes them suitable for use in cosmetics.
