Product Information
Pseudoakuammigine is a n-oxide that is found in the kappa-opioid receptor. It binds to the κ-opioid receptor and has shown to have antinociceptive properties. Pseudoakuammigine has been used as a pharmaceutical dosage for the treatment of pain. Pseudoakuammigine has been found in many plants, including plants from the Apocynaceae family such as Tabernaemontana divaricata and Tabernanthe iboga. The plant's main chemical compounds are hydroxylated indole alkaloids, which are also found in other plants such as Catha edulis (khat). Pseudoakuammigine binds to opioid receptors and activates them by binding to the iminium ion of the receptor's active site. This inhibits the effects of endogenous opioids, like endorphins and enkephalins, which are responsible for analgesia and euphoria.
