Product Information
- 4-Bromosalicylanilide
- N-(4-bromophenyl)-2-hydroxybenzamide
4'-Bromosalicylanilide is a stilbene derivative that has been synthesized by coupling of 4-phenylsalicylic acid and 4-bromobenzaldehyde. The compound exhibits electronic spectra, which are in agreement with the proposed structure. An analysis of the 13C NMR spectroscopy showed coupling at δ = 7.6 ppm, which corresponds to the phenyl group and δ = 3.2 ppm, corresponding to the benzaldehyde group. The compound also shows an intense blue fluorescence in acidic solutions. This property was observed by using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy technique.
