BML-190 is a quinoline compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has antimicrobial activity and can bind to the CB2 receptor on cells, preventing the binding of endogenous cannabinoids. BML-190 also blocks the production of certain growth factors and erythropoietin, which may inhibit tumor proliferation. BML-190 has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models. This drug has been shown to have anticancer effects in rat liver microsomes and colorectal carcinoma cells in vitro. BML-190 is not active against cryptococcus neoformans, although it inhibits pluripotent stem cell growth in vitro.
