Product Information
LRE1 is a protein that is upregulated in atrial myocytes in response to reactive oxygen species. LRE1 has been shown to be a potential biomarker of heart disease activity, as well as a potential biomarker for inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. LRE1 binds to and inhibits the function of inhibitory proteins, which are responsible for regulating the cell cycle by controlling transcriptional regulation and protein synthesis. LRE1 also inhibits the activity of effector proteins, which are involved in inflammation and apoptosis. The inhibition of these proteins leads to cell lysis. The wild-type strain of LRE1 has been shown to inhibit polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification, while an antibody against LRE1 leads to increased PCR amplification. This indicates that LRE1 may play a role in the regulation of gene expression, specifically transcriptional regulation and protein synthesis.
