Abeprazan is a peptide that binds to the proton-gated ion channels. This drug is a receptor ligand, which can be used as a research tool in pharmacology and cell biology. Abeprazan has been shown to bind to the gastric H/K-ATPase (proton-gated ion channels) and inhibit its activity. Abeprazan has also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the activity of two inflammatory proteins, TNF-α and IL-1β, which are generated by immune cells in response to bacterial infection.
