Product Information
- N-(2-bromoethoxy)benzaldehyde
4-(2-Bromoethoxy)benzenecarbaldehyde is a reactive molecule that has been shown to be toxic in vitro. This compound induces apoptosis and neuronal death in the presence of glucose. It has also been shown to have antidiabetic properties, and has been tested for its ability to inhibit the uptake of glucose across caco-2 cell monolayers. The binding of 4-(2-bromoethoxy)benzenecarbaldehyde to cationic surfactants may be due to intermolecular hydrogen bonding or pioglitazone, which is an anti-diabetic drug with similar chemical properties.
