Description:
5,5-Bis(propan-2-yl)imidazolidine-2,4-dione is a potent and selective antinociceptive agent. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic pain. 5,5-Bis(propan-2-yl)imidazolidine-2,4-dione has high potency and selectivity for the peripheral nervous system. It inhibits voltage dependent sodium channels which lead to decreased neuronal excitability. This drug also has anticonvulsant properties which may be due to its ability to inhibit glutamate release.
