Description:2- (2-Pyridyl)-2-propylamine is a redox agent that can be used to oxidize organic compounds. It can also be used to quantitatively measure the concentration of hexafluorophosphate ions in solution. The reaction of 2-(2-pyridyl)-2-propylamine with hydroxylamine leads to the formation of an oxidized product, which can be detected electrochemically. This reaction is irreversible and radical. 2-(2-Pyridyl)-2-propylamine is also capable of oxidizing other organic compounds by sequentially reducing them before they are reoxidized.
